In 1973 Patrick Kelly met Huang Xingxian (Huang Sheng-Shyan, 黃性賢) and trained with him until Huang's death in 1992.
Alongside his Taiji training, Patrick Kelly spent decades studying with teachers of two other esoteric streams: the Gnostic Abdullah Dougan, from 1974 until Abdullah's death in 1987, and the Himalayan Raja Yogi Mouni Maharaj, who taught him from 1977. This wider training shapes his approach to Taiji: the art is taught not as a set of physical skills but as a precise, step-by-step method of inner development, in which the body is used to train the mind.
Since Huang's death, Patrick Kelly has taught continuously and internationally. He established a teaching network that now spans Europe and the wider world, carried by senior students of twenty one years' standing and more.
