Abdullah Dougan
"Destroy the ego."
Abdullah Dougan was born in New Zealand in 1918. His search began in the Gurdjieff tradition, whose practical psychology remained the ground of his teaching: the balanced development of the moving, emotional and thinking functions, and the practice of self-remembering.
From there he followed the teaching back to its Sufi source. He taught in New Zealand as a Gnostic sage and founded the Gnostic Society.
Patrick Kelly met Abdullah Dougan in 1974, worked closely with him until Abdullah's death in 1987, and incorporated what he learned from him into his own practice and teaching.
